Host: "Well, here we are with the world famous astrologer, Walden Welch, live and almost in person."

WW: (Laugh) "Yes, almost in person. Live from California but also in your studio in Chicago, Illinois by the magic of modern day communications. I love the 'world famous' part. Am I supposed to pay you, or is this free?"

Host:  "I don't think that you could possibly realize the excitement and commotion your name created when I announced, a couple of weeks ago, that you had agreed to appear on tonight's program. Our telephones rang off their hooks and fell off their cradles! You obviously have quite a wondrous reputation and a tremendous following. Our circuit board is completely lit up this evening with listeners who are eager to speak to you."

WW: "Thank you for your kind words. I have several clients here in Chicago so I assume they have tuned in this evening?"

Host: "I'm sure that they have, along with several hundred others judging from the circuit jam you have caused this evening. However, before we accept calls I want to begin our interview by asking you how our recent national crises, the attack and destruction of The World Trade Center has affected you·how you personally feel about this disaster and what you feel may follow?"

WW: "Like everyone else of good mind I am devastated by what has happened. When I first heard the news of the attack I turned on my television and could not comprehend what I was seeing. I thought that I was watching an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Everything seemed surrealistic. I could not comprehend that what I was watching was reality. What I witnessed was too insane, it was insanity, total insanity. Never in my entire lifetime have I ever personally witnessed such evil. Hitler's atrocity against the Jews is the only situation I can liken this matter to. I was devastated by what I saw, I still am, I always will be. Anyone who is a decent and caring human being has to feel the same way."

Host: "Yes, I think we all reacted much the same as you."

WW: "Of course. How could it be otherwise? One would have to be inhuman or mentally ill to view this in any other way. I am also very angry. I am angry beyond words, and rightfully so. It is inconceivable that the sinister minds that created this vile havoc claim to have done so for the very glory of their God. Religious fanaticism is, I believe, the most frightening of all mental illnesses. The egotistical need to control other's minds and ways of thinking is abhorrent to my spiritual belief that our God has willed freedom and freedom of choice for all of us. Be different, be what we choose, but be kind, loving and accepting with one another. There are laws that we must all abide by to give others their freedom of choice. To break these laws which protect each of us from harm is unacceptable behavior in a civilized society. Hitler broke these laws, Jim Jones broke these laws, Charles Manson broke these laws. Timothy McVeigh, the Waco tragedy, the Uni-bomber, the Oklahoma bombing·the list goes on and on. It frightens me to see how common place it has become to find so many mad men infested with such outlandish egos that allow them to be so hateful and uncaring towards others. And now, unfortunately, there are two new monsters of society to add to this list, Saddam Hussein and Bin Laden. Like those before them, they too relish controlling other people's minds and actions, to take control of them for their own personal ego gratification and perverse satisfactions. They control those who are weak and submissive and ignorant. They call this madness power. What is frightening is the fact that our technology has developed to the point that we can literally destroy mankind in its entirety. Should an entity with the demonic magnetism of, say a modern day Hitler, take force in this world it would be possible that in one act of anger we could all be destroyed."

Host: Hasn't the destruction of the world 'by fire' been predicted by several astute Prophets for the turn of this century? And, isn't that 'by fire' likely to be nuclear destruction?  Did not Nostradamus predict This?  There has been one of Nostradamus' quatrains being  circulated throughout the Internet that suggests he predicted the attack upon The World Trade Center, and that this event was just one of many which would lead to the destruction of mankind. Let me read this to you. This is Nostradamus' prediction on World War Three:

'In the year of the new century and nine months, from the sky will come a great King of Terror. The sky will burn at forty-five degrees. Fire approaches the great new city. In the city of York there will be a great collapse, two twin brothers torn apart by chaos while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb third big war will begin when the big city is burning.' Nostradamus, 1654.  

"Now I find this downright frightening to say the least!"

WW: (Laugh) "Yes, so do I! I find it frightening because this quatrain which has been attributed to have been written by Nostradamus was said to be written in 1654. Nostradamus died in 1566! The famous French astrologer and physician lived from 1503 to 1566. The quatrain you have just read to us is a hoax. It has been attributed to have been written by a student at Brock University in Canada by the name of Neil Marshall. He wrote it to show how easy it was to add to, or to distort the many predictions, of Nostradamus. But what you just read to us was not the end of it. More fakery was piled on in later versions such as this: 

'On the 11^th day of the 9^th month, two metal birds will crash into two tall statues in the new city, and the world will end soon after.' 

"This second quatrain is entirely made-up, and the first quatrain, the one you quoted, is composed of lines taken from two entirely different prophecies of Nostradamus which have been linked together for effect. Actually these are lines referencing 'Normans' and 'Mongols' which have absolutely no plausible application to current events. The only thing that is remotely real here is that the second two lines of the first quatrain are taken from what is often cited as a Nostradamus writing identified as Century 6, Quatrain 97. Naturally all of Nostradamus' quatrains were written in his native language of French which is very difficult to properly translate into English. However, an approximate English translation would be:  

'Five and forty steps the sky will burn. Fire approaches the large new city. Instantly a great thin flame will leap .  When someone will want to test the Normans.'

"This quatrain says nothing whatsoever about New York City. Anyone who wishes to can conclude 'new city' to indicate New York City, but in truth there is nothing 'new' about New York City which is in fact one of the oldest cities in North America. Many of the worlds major cities have the word 'new' in their names (such as New Delhi) and that any city settled, built, or rebuilt in the last four hundred years·in other words, just about any city in the world·could be considered 'new' relative to Nostradamus' time. And next, that line about a sky that 'will burn at five and forty degrees' has to be stretched to the point of ridiculousness to pertain to the World Trade Center event in New York City. The Big Apple is nowhere near 45 degrees latitude. Actually it is below the 41-degree mark. Milwaukee, Boston, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Montreal·these cities are far closer to the 45 degree latitude than New York City. Well anyway, I could argue on and on about this one but why waste the time? The simple truth is that there is no truth that Nostradamus predicted The World Trade Center crisis."  

Nostradamus

Host: "Thank you for clarifying this matter. It has been of great concern and interest to so many people. It is almost disappointing to hear that it is a hoax. Had it, in truth, been predicted one could at least believe there might have been some kind of a divine reason behind this tragedy. Now it appears to simply be a random act, or plan of madness. But what about Edgar Cayce? Did he make any prediction relative to this event? You discussed with me your life long study into the work of this great American Prophet prior to appearing on this program."

WW: "No, Cayce did not make any prediction that was directed specifically towards The World Trade Center tragedy. He did, however, make several predictions referring to a Third World War. Alarmingly he stated:

'At the turn of the century America will join forces with Russia for a war in the Mid East, against Red China.'

"Now please remember that Cayce died in 1945, and in his lifetime nobody knew why her referred to China as 'Red', let alone how he could ever suggest that America could ever be friendly with Russia.  This would have seemed preposterous at that date in time.  Cayce is actually the only great psychic who predicted beyond the turn of this century.  Most surmised the world would end at the turn of the century.. Cayce predicted far off into the future, a hundred years or so beyond our current date in time. He saw himself in a future lifetime, traveling with scientists in a cigar shaped plane to New York City to look up records of his past life as Edgar Cayce. He noted that New York City was being rebuilt. The city had been partially destroyed but he was not certain of the destruction was caused by earthquakes or tidal waves. He stated that in this future lifetime of his, he would be reborn in the ocean port city of Omaha, Nebraska. Sometime, not long after the turn of the century, the world had undergone a total polar shift. 

'The West Coast of Europe changed in the twinkling of an eye. Vancouver has been moved in-land. Japan and the greater portions of California have gone into the sea. The West Coast of American is now Omaha, Nebraska, and The Great Lakes now empty into the sea.'

Host: "This is truly frightening! I am not as familiar with the works of Edgar Cayce as you are, perhaps because of what I have read of his predictions have disturbed me so."

WW: "Much of what he has predicted is disturbing, true. However it was also Cayce who predicted a far better world in this new century. He stated that 'lower entities' would not be allowed to incarnate for a period of 2000 years, and that this more spiritually developed human species would rightfully redo all the wrongs the previous society had done. Cayce placed a great deal of emphasis upon the fact that our present highly developed World Empire had been preceded by an even greater Empire which called itself Atlantis. It had all the advanced technology which we enjoy today, and more. In fact the technologies of Atlanteans became so advanced that this society actually accidentally destroyed itself, according to Cayce. Atlantis' main power source was a Great Crystal, according to the Cayce Readings. This Crystal would be likened to what we know of regarding solar power. The energy of this Great Crystal became uncontrollable and created havoc and destruction to the Continent of Atlantis. According to Cayce Atlantis took 3000 years to submerge into the sea, but The Bible recorded this event as Noah's Ark."

Host: "There are many myths regarding The Continent of Atlantis and where it was located. Where did Cayce say Atlantis was geographically?"

WW: "He stated it from the tip of what we now call Biminis, upward and beyond the area now known as The Azores Islands. During the 3000 years breaking up of Atlantis some people moved to the areas of South America, while others migrated to Egypt and other places. This is why the culture of these continents have so many similarities as regarding calendars, pyramids, etc. The Cayce Readings state that the only true Atlantean in the world today are the Basque people in the Pyrenees. This is fascinating when you realize that we know very little about this rare group of people who have a society set apart from all other cultures. He also stated that The Azores Islands and portions of Biminis are all that is left of what was once called The Continent of Atlantis."

Host: "Fascinating stuff really!"

WW: "It is indeed! But what is important regarding this information is how it has affected our current world situation. You see, Cayce said that many of our present day scientists were at one time scientists in Atlantis and that they have reincarnated into our present world and are relearning the technology they once created before. In that they had developed such powerful and destructive technology in previous day Atlantis they could do the same in modern day America. These scientists can in essence, 'make us or break us.' 'They must learn to redo the wrongs done prior,' according to The Readings.  'To keep in harmony with nature and natural laws.  To not rape the earth of natural resources, to become one with nature, etc.' Now, with this in mind we come back to our current world situation·this new war we are getting into, this World War Three. Cayce predicted:

'At the turn of the century America would begin its decline in power due to the high cost of energy and oil. In the next century Canada would become the Leading Empire due to its abundance of natural resources. America would become second in power due to its loss of agricultural lands, and our country's devastation caused by natural disasters.'

"Yes, Casey predicted devastating earthquakes for California. He went so far as to say that Indiana would become America's breadbasket and that people who wanted to avoid this havoc should move to Canada. 'Our Constitution was based upon the most spiritual doctrine ever written for a country but we have not lived up to it.' He warned, 'We need a great shaking up to again learn that we must become our brothers keeper.'  

Edgar Cayce

Host: "I must say that this comment appears to be a timely one. Everything seems to be about money these days doesn't it?"

WW: "Yes it does. However, Cayce was implying far more than simply our greed regarding financial issues. He was reminding and warning us that we are all 'one' and that we must recall and remember this truth if we wish to regain our spiritual awareness and spiritual purposes."

Host: "And, you say that the natural disasters that Cayce predicted were do to a polar shift?"

WW: "Yes, and from what I can make of his Readings this would occur sometime before the year of 2100. Actually, despite the fact that he has been the only psychic in history to have a 94% accurate batting average, Cayce's prediction of earth changes are already off target. He stated that devastating earthquakes would begin 'within a generation before the turn of the century'.  He had stated that the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego, California would all have submerged before the turn of this century. 

'When there are greater eruptions in Mr. Vesuvius, Pelee or Etna, expect within three months that Southern Japan would fall into the sea. Three months later Southern California would be stricken and then Northern California three months later."

Host: (laugh) "I'm sure that you good people in California are more than grateful Cayce has been off target regarding these earthquake predictions! Considering his high rate of accuracy I am surprised he could have been so wrong."

WW: "There may be a very good, and very special, reason for this. Several years ago I was visiting the Association For Research And Enlightenment (The Edgar Cayce Foundation) in Virginia Beach, Virginia where its headquarters and library are. One of my friends took me to meet Gladys Davis Turner who had been Edgar Cayce's personal secretary and friend. It was Gladys who directed and recorded most of Cayce's Readings. When I entered her office I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed she had several framed pictures of San Francisco hanging on the walls. 'For goodness sake, Gladys!' I commented. 'What are you doing, collecting memorabilia?' 'Whatever do you mean?' she asked me questioning. 'Cayce said San Francisco was going to go into the sea along with several other California cities. I thought maybe you were trying to corner the market so you could open up a souvenir stand and make a fortune!' I teased. She looked at me and laughed and said, 'Oh, I just love looking at pictures of San Francisco while I sit here in my office working. If I could be a young girl and start my life over again, that is where I would like to live.' 'But that wouldn't be a wise choice considering Cayce stated it would be destroyed,' I replied. 'Oh, no·I don't think so,' Gladys answered innocently. I was more than surprised by her answer. 'You don't think so? I am amazed to hear you say that, Gladys. You're the person who recorded all of Mr. Cayce's Readings. Surely you were present when he made this one?' 'Yes I was,' she continued. 'However some things are subject to change. Did you ever read the book "The Outer Limits of Edgar Cayce's Power", Mr. Welch?'  she asked. 'Yes I did. That is the book that lists the inaccurate Readings Cayce did. However, his Readings were usually inaccurate only if people were trying to use his abilities to become wealthy and it was not their destiny to be so,' I answered. 'Well, there is one Reading in that book where Edgar predicted: "San Francisco will suffer a worse earthquake in 1955 than it suffered in 1906·unless there are enough people of spiritual enlightenment within the vicinity of that city and if so the earthquake will be prevented." Well, there was no earthquake in San Francisco in 1955, Mr. Welch. I also believe that there is more positive spirituality in California today than in any other part of the world. It is perhaps because of this reason that the earthquake predictions have not come to be. All things are subject to change due to man's use of his own personal will. Nothing is written in stone."

Host: "I like her reply and her reasoning. That is a wonderful personal story and I thank you for sharing it. Our audience is eager that you take personal calls and questions, so we are going to have to conclude our interview segment shortly and get to the phones.
